To quote Austin Powers, "allow myself to introduce myself," my name is Glenn Willey and I'm the "new guy" at ABC4. Sometimes it's tough to be the "new guy" but I've found that not to be the case here. I'm fortunate enough to work with some great people at ABC4. They've helped me learn Tooele isn't pronounced "Tool," pastrami on a cheeseburger is pretty good and if you happen to live on Traverse Mountain get the big snow blower!
I'm a certified broadcast meteorologist with nearly 20 years forecasting experience and have earned 2 seals of approval from professional weather organizations. I enjoy the challenge of forecasting the weather and Utah presents plenty of forecasting challenges.
I'm also a HUGE sports fan. I love baseball and was lucky enough to arrive in town just in time to catch the Bees before their season ended. I'm hoping the NBA can settle their labor issues because I want to see a Jazz game or two or three...come on guys! Not to mention hockey, great college sports, there's something for everyone here.
I hope you'll tune in Monday through Friday mornings from 4:30 to 7 and check out my forecast on Good Morning Utah. I'm looking forward to helping you get your day started with a laugh and a forecast that makes sense. I hope you'll help me and my family find the best places to eat, the best places to visit and the best places to have fun in and around Salt Lake City. That's where Facebook and Twitter come in to play.
I use Facebook and Twitter to get the "weather word" out and I also like to hear from you too. A pair of eyes and ears beats a computer screen any day when trying to get good weather conditions on the ground so I'll be counting on you to help me. If it's snowing at your house, send me a note on Facebook. So don't forget to "like" my Facebook page "Glenn Willey Weather" and follow me on Twitter too at "willeyonweather."
I love to write so come back to my blog from time to time. I'll be talking weather, maybe some sports or just things that we all deal with every day. It's great to be in Utah and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new home.
