I'm very proud to be a local girl. I love Utah! But ... my heart is especially close to Farmington! When I heard they were came in as the 12th best city in the nation, I was thrilled.
Here is what CNN Money had to say:This friendly town near the Great Salt Lake lies 20 minutes from Salt Lake City’s job and cultural opportunities. More Small Town USA than suburb, Farmington is safe and quiet. That’s not to say it’s no fun: in the center of town is Lagoon, a 125-year-old amusement park that attracts visitors from all over Utah. The town has a mix of expensive turn-of-the-century houses and more affordable homes; a typical three-bedroom ran around $180,000 in mid-2011. What’s more, Farmington’s taxes are low, yet the town is in excellent financial shape.
And of course - I totally agree! I moved to Farmington when I was 8! I was born in California, but for all intents and purposes I'm as Utah as it gets. It was great to do a story about my city. This is one of the greatest things about what I'm doing right now; I get to report to the community I love!
