The rivalry is here.
Pretty strange considering it's September, right?
Oh, well. In my opinion, it's not that big of a deal because whatever month or time of year this game is played one thing is for sure - it's going to be good! Only two of the past 14 matchups between BYU and Utah have been decided by more than a touchdown. Since '97, only in 2004 & 2008 (Utah's two undefeated seasons) has there been a lopsided score.
Through two games this year, both teams are 1-1. Neither offense looks great and both defenses have been keeping their respective teams in the game.
No matter how much coach Whittingham says Jordan Wynn is 100% healthy, I won't believe it until he throws like it. And his offensive line can be a huge help by not being knocked around so much.
Jake Heaps is super talented. He has super talented receivers. So what's up with the offense? Maybe new OC Brandon Doman needs a few more games to warm up? I can tell you this, fans won't be so patient if the Cougars drop this game at home.
With that said, my pick for this Saturday night is......BYU.
I'm going with the Cougars and the biggest reason why is because they're the home team. If this game was in Salt Lake City I would be picking Utah. The Utes haven't won at LaVell Edwards Stadium since 2005. I do not expect a high scoring game at all.
Final score prediction: BYU 21, Utah 17.
Tell me which team you have winning on Saturday.....
