In case you haven't noticed Utah has a lot of Mexican food restaurants. And sense I love Mexican food that is a double edged fork for me. It is too easy to get my hands (or should I say belly) on the food. However, it has also created an opportunity to find the best burritos or best burrito/taco salads in town.
I have politely consumed food at several restaurants since re-arriving in Utah in September of 2009. I don't want to throw anybody under the burrito bus, so I won't name the places that I didn't care for, nor will I name the places that offer up mere average food. However, I will name names when it comes to the good stuff.
Favorite Chicken burrito - Rancheritos at 2200 Redwood Road. Maybe because it is so close to work and has satisfied my appetite on several occasions, but I like it. Specifics: Grilled Chicken and a little sour cream with the hot green sauce on some bites and lime on others. It is greasy so you need a lot of napkins - a lot of them.
Favorite Burrito Salad - Cafe Rio's Pork Barbacoa. I have very few food addictions - in fact, I don't know if I have any... OK, warm Chocolate Chip cookies... But that Pork Barbacoa Salad at Cafe Rio has me by the taste buds. I think I could eat it 3-4 times a week, (its healthy - its a salad - right?) but I've never gone more than two times in a seven day period.
OK, now my range may be limited and my burrito vision blurred, so help me out here. Where do I need to go to do any better? What am I missing out there? I'll take all suggestions. And I pretty sure I will try all of them.
