With all the talk about the demise of the BYU football team, the stunning upset by Utah State and the Utah Jazz opening training camp, the Utes football team has kind of been lost in the shuffle these days.

It's easy to understand, seeing how the Utes are basically coming off of four straight bye weeks. Ever since they beat Pittsburgh in their season opener, the Utes have flown way under the radar with cakewalk wins over UNLV, New Mexico and San Jose State. Their actual bye week gave them a better game than the Rebels, Lobos and Spartans did.

But that all changes this week. The Utes hit the road to take on a dangerous Iowa State team. The Cyclones just put up 52 points on Texas Tech. Playing in the Big-12 Conference, the Cyclones are used to the kind of speed and talent the Utes have overwhelmed their lesser opponents with this season.

I still feel the Utes will win in Ames this Saturday. Even in a hostile environment, Jordan Wynn and the Utes offense has too much firepower for Iowa State to contain. But they better find a away to slow down Iowa State quarterback Austen Arnaud, otherwise they probably won't see the top-10 for the rest of the season.

If the Utes can pull off the victory, they'll be looking at a 7-0 record headed into their showdown October 30th at Air Force. Then, with the Notre Dame and TCU games looming, the Utes will definitely be the talk of the town.
