This is what it's all about. This is why I think I have the best job in the world. The Utah Jazz and Miami Heat put on a game for the ages tonight, and our entire newsroom hung on every second.

Anchors were screaming. Editors were cheering. Producers couldn't sit still. Directors were delirious. It's amazing what the hometown team can do. It can make you forget all your worries, stop your heart on a dime, and ultimately wrap you up in a state of euphoria. That's why I love sports so much.

The Jazz were getting destroyed by the mighty Heat. LeBron and D-Wade helped the Heat build a 22-point lead. All hope was lost. Then Paul Millsap flew in to the rescue. He couldn't miss. This is a guy who hadn't even attempted a 3-pointer all season. All of a sudden he was hitting 30-footers. Millsap ended up with a career high 46 points. I guess the Jazz knew what they were doing when they matched Portland's offer sheet after all.

As the Miami lead dwindled, our entire newsroom started to erupt. People (and I'm not naming names, Chris) abandoned their jobs to concentrate on this miraculous comeback. Every time the Jazz scored, our normally busy newsroom erupted in cheers. It was awesome. When Millsap scored at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, pandemonium broke out.

People that I had no idea even cared about the Jazz were suddenly enthralled. It's not everyday you see a comeback this big against a team this good, and everybody knew it. They wanted to witness something special, and the Jazz rewarded us with one of their most memorable games in recent history.

The Jazz reminded all of us how powerful and intoxicating sports can be. I love this job.
