Ann Romney was showing a little knee on an appearance this week on Jay Leno's show. Judging from some of the blogs out there, you'd think she'd blasphemed.
She wore a staple of every woman's wardrobe... the little black dress. It was fashionable, but in my opinion tasteful.
And yes, it did have sleeves.
But because we saw her knees on national TV, apparently some Mormons are accusing her of not wearing the temple garment.
I wish I were kidding, but I am not.
This is insane. Certifiable.
Do we condemn "Jimmer" when he's on the basketball court? "Nope, no garments there."
What about Donny and Marie? Some of their costumes over the years have not been "garment legal."
Yes, I am mad.
Why? Because the criticism comes with the implication that somehow Ann Romney is not a "good Mormon." That is just plain wrong.
And another thing: All this talk about Ann's dress makes Mormons look petty, judgmental and obsessed with a "holier than thou" attitude.
We are better than that.
