I think this is a great article. It is well known that the majority of American Citizens lack complacency or are simply flaky people. For reasons unknown, people are way too self absorbed today, I really do feel your pain. It's almost like since Facebook has come around, a measure of the relationship have become a number or a competition between people to see whom they can take advantage of the most / draw the most resources from.

Wow. Your entire article could be condensed into: "I hate flaky people." Are you sure you're actually a journalist? Don't get me wrong, I can't stand flaky people either. But you couldn't even give a personal anecdote with names omitted or anything. I feel like I just read some prepubescent teen's LiveJournal.

Dear Author, Everyone flakes out on you because you are an annoying person. They don't realize this at first, hence the initial enthusiasm at entering a project with you. Soon however your annoying nature becomes unbearable, being that you are a narcissistic judgmental jerk, and they cling to any excuse to back out. Hence everyone's 'flakiness'. Sincerely, Everyone Else

So, this is what they would put on the last page of the newspaper if they ever added a page... I'm also wagering this guy asked for two extra days: one, because him and his family had a boating trip on Saturday and two, church on Sunday. /Offer to help the flaky people, you may just turn them around--the people you describe sound as if they have social issues. But, who the hell knows, you just want them to "come through". You have no other obligation towards them or for them.

Really? How does this poorly written rant constitute a news article. If you are in fact a journalist as you claim to be, why don't you go research something newsworthy and report it. But no, rather than live up to your journalistic responsibilities to your employer and to the public, you chose to be a flake and write this useless opinion piece.
