LOGAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A woman tried to give her husband away on Craigslist.com because he plays too many video games! The Logan family says it was all in fun, but there’s been quite a response.
On November 8th’s midnight release of Modern Warfare 3 Joseph Baddley was waiting in line with bells on. He bought one of the 7-million copies sold that day.
“So he could stand in a huge long line, pick up this game, drive home and begin playing and I didn't see him for like three days straight,” said Joseph’s wife, Alyse.
Joseph was recently discharged from the military after a back injury in Afghanistan. Now, he’s glued to virtual combat. He admits it’s not normal.
“No, but most of my friends are in the military. Tthis is how we stay connected,” said Joseph.
One day Alyse was shopping around with her mother-in-law on Craigslist when a light went off in her head.
“And I said, I'm going to sell him on Craigslist if he doesn't stop playing his video game. And she said, ‘Oh, just do it.’ So, I did!” said Alyse.
They didn’t expect much from the ad that read, “Free. On craiglist. To a good home.”
But, emails started pouring in.
“I've had a couple personal ads for men saying, oh I'm housebroke, I'm trained, I'll trade him places,” said Alyse.
“Some lady thought it was serious and tried to give us marital counseling,” said Joseph.
One woman even offered a bag of Skittles for Joseph!
But, although she did put the ad out there, Alyse says she’s happy to have her hubby home and says ‘game on!’
“Because I think he deserves his gaming after everything that he's done. I love him. It was just a joke!” said Alyse.
