SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – The Breaking Dawn build up began when Twilight stars adorned the red carpet in downtown Salt Lake last week to pay a visit to their most loyal fans.
“Team Jacob!” said Melanie Thelin.
“Way team Edward. Jacob is not even in my mind at all,” said Melanie’s friend Cassandra Houston.
Megaplex is ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the country for Twilight ticket sales.
“Jacob, Jacob!” screamed a group of girls. “Aw, he's just so buff! When his shirt's off he’s just ah!”
“We're the location but the fans bring the party with them,” said Megaplex Marketing Director Jeff Whipple.
Tonight the six-cinema chain has more than 80 screens showing Breaking Dawn Part 1 at midnight and expecting to glamour some 20,000 Utahns.
“It's why the studios have done such a remarkable job reaching out to the twilight fans here in Utah,” said Whipple.
Even real cast outfits are on display in the Jordan Commons Complex straight from the set. There are even dreamy souvenirs.
“There's pictures. You can get your picture taken in a wedding scene with Edward,” said Thelin.
But, there were some lucky people who had a friend who actually rented out theatres for private showings and already got to see that much anticipated steamy scene.
“The naughty scene!” said one fan. The Edward breaking post scene!” said Houston.
“Honeymoon. They went on their honeymoon!” said a fan.
