Research has shown that people do take longer leaving a spot when they know people are waiting for that spot. Nevertheless, your behavior behavior is plain mean. You are a jerk. Merry Christmas.

two stories: once, I find myself vying for a parking spot at the airport. Some bmw driver was waiting on the spot, too. I was able to get in there first. The BMW driver rolled down his window, and said, "Hey, I was waiting for that spot." "You still are," I told him. Second story: I do this every year. I love to go shopping at the mall during christmas, come out of the mall, and head to my car (which, somehow, I got a good spot near the doors). Four or five cars will see me head to my car, and throw my stuff in the trunk, and then they do this crafty circling of the spot, trying to jockey into position to nab the space. I get in my car, roll down the window, light up a smoke, and take a little break. After about a 10 minute break, I roll my window back up, and get out, close and lock the door and go back into the mall. You would think that someone would slash my tyres or something....but no one has...
