SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - She's a pint sized power house. At just nine years old Sam Gordon has stats most pros would envy; 35 touchdowns, nearly 2,000 rushing yards and 65 tackles and it’s just her first season.
Sam has earned the nickname “Sweet Feet” for her ability to turn on the heat and stop on a dime. Her YouTube highlight reel has already been seen by nearly two million people, so it's no surprise this internet sensation is now America’s little sweetheart earning her a spot on national television and the front of a Wheaties box.
The honor was unveiled on Good Morning America Wednesday morning. Sam’s national television tour didn’t stop there; she also appeared on ESPN answering questions on SportsCenter.
"What do you think about being on the Wheaties box?” asked Linda Cohn. “I think it's really great because my mom said this was a real athletic breakfast and only real athletes got on it,” said Gordon. “Michael Jordan was on it for a long time so I’m really proud to be on a Wheaties box."
The new superstar didn't shy away when asked about her favorite part of the game.
Gordon proudly said, "Being the girl out there and scoring on the boys and the boys to be like 'dang it. I just got beat by a girl.’"
While Sweet Feet loves dominating the boys in the male dominated sport, her real dream is to play professional soccer.
No word on when Gordon’s Wheaties box will be out on shelves here in Utah.
