This worker threatened to use his "power" with city connections, to destroy their business. That's criminal action in any other county. Would his next email have been asking for a bribe? Shame on the county for letting this man get away with abusing his power.

"Bigotry in any way shape or form has no place in our community,” said Gardner. “Intimidation by anyone in government will not be tolerated, not in my office and it should not be tolerated in any office.” Except this once, it seems, as there was no actual punishment. Not even "Paid administrative leave."

Jedd's punishment will probably be having to make a couple of pounds of salsa for the office. White privilege is alive and well in a post-Obama Era.
