Salt Lake City gets honesty experiment

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Thursday Salt Lake City was put to the test: are we honest?

Honest Tea put on this social experiment testing thirty specific cities to find out what people will do when faced with the choice, "to pay or not to pay" when nobody was looking.

Each unmanned, pop-up stand was stocked with Honest Tea beverages and a jar asking for one dollar.

Members of the Honest Tea team will be watching and keeping data on what happens. They will mark what each person did and what they look like.

The data collected will be released on August 20 as the first ever "National Honesty Index."
