PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Provo police were investigating a shooting and stabbing that happened early Tuesday morning and spent most of their time sorting through several stories of what actually happened.
According to police, Tuesday morning at around midnight, a neighbor living at 974 West 600 South called police to report that a man and woman were fighting outside.
When officers arrived at the apartment complex, officers say they found a 24-year-old man and his girlfriend's mother arguing. Police asked the man to leave at around 1:00 am.
Less than a half an hour later, a Provo Sergeant was driving through the intersection at 300 South and 400 West when a bleeding man ran towards him.
Police say the Sergeant stopped and found it was the same man Police met with earlier. The man was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for knife and gunshot wounds.
The victim says he was shot and stabbed by his girlfriend's brothers. Provo Detectives were talking to the girlfriend, the brothers and the victim to sort out exactly what happened.
Later Tuesday, 21-year-old Oscar Gutierrez and 20-year-old Adrian Gutierrez were both booked into the Utah County Jail for Attempted Homicide and making false statements.
The victim, 24-year-old Victor Silva, remained in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
