SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Peruvian Park Elementary is on high alert one day after a student says a man tried to stuff her into his van.

"It's very unsettling. Very unsettling," said Tami Sepull who was dropping off her child.

Parents are taking extra care to drop their children off to school safely.

"I didn't see a whole lot of kids walking today-- a lot of parents driving their kids to school," said Baily's step-father, Roman Jacklin.

Linville says she's thankful to see the extra patrol cars in the area. "I can see that they're watching and looking around. I think I feel a lot safer for me and all of my friends in school," Linville said.

She says she's doing better the day after the reported attempted abduction.

parents and police are taking her seriously stepping up precautions.

"I will walk him in now yes. I will make sure he gets into the school building before I leave," said Sepull.
