BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON (ABC 4 News) - The Outdoor Retailer shows will remain in Utah through 2016, according to Vice President and Group Show Director for Outdoor Retailer, Kenji Haroutunian.

Organizer was considering other cities like Las Vegas, Chicago, Orlando and Denver.

The Governor's Office of Economic Development will continue to pay for temporary exhibition space at the Salt Palace, for Outdoor Retailer to use during the summer show. That was key in helping Outdoor Retailer remain in Utah.

Last evening, I watched a news segment on local Utah channel 4's 6 pm news (abc4.com). It was about Utah Governor Gary Herbert's continuing plans to take over federal lands and develop public lands for recreation vs. development according to a plan worked out between him and top Utah environmentalists. Of course, no environmentalists were named or interviewed -- only attendants at the Outdoor Retailers Convention. Here's a Salt Lake Tribune article on the same thing: http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/55678331-78/outdoor-recreation-utah-vi... Who are those top Utah environmentalists who have contributed to and put their seal of approval on this plan? http://www.nationofchange.org/utah-climate-activists-infiltrate-truly-unconventional-energy-summit-1359039821
