WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say officers were involved in a shooting in West Valley City on Friday afternoon.

Multiple shots were reportedly fired, while an officer sustained minor injuries.

The shooting took place at 2293 W. Lexington Park Drive (3710 South).

ABC 4 News has learned that one person has been killed.

Police did not immediately confirm any information about the deceased person.

Police did confirm that 2 detectives were trying to make contact with an individual in the area when the shooting took place.
