FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - An 18-year-old suspect accused of setting off an explosive device at Bountiful High School failed to show up for a court hearing in Farmington on Monday.
A judge quickly issued a bench warrant for Chris Perry's arrest.
But what the judge and prosecutors didn't know was, Perry was already in the Davis County Jail, having been arrested on unrelated charges.
Perry was picked up and booked on Saturday on suspicion of possession of alcohol and tobacco, along with two lewdness accusations.
Apparently, neither the prosecutors nor court knew about the arrest.
Perry was accused on 3 counts of Possession of an Explosive Device in connection with an explosion that
forced the evacuation of Bountiful High School in April, but accepted a plea deal in May, pleading guilty to only one of the charges.
He was scheduled to be sentenced on Monday when he failed to show in court.
