(Salt Lake City) ABC4 News -

It's been a week now since the Dark Knight Rises masacre.  Going to the movies, you simply can't help thinking about what happened in Colorado. An independent research firm have found 20-25 percent of people are now hesitant to even go to the movies. but where did this research come from, and do numbers in Utah support that many people being apprehensive?

A visitor to Utah from Fairbanks, Alaska said, "No, why not? Things like that can happen anywhere. They can happen at McDonalds, I'm not gonna stop going there."

Professional movie critic Paul Gibbs: "I'd like to avoid crazy people but you're never sure where they're gonna be. So avoiding movies isn't going to help at all."

"It's pretty random that it happened. I'm still going to live my life, and go to the movies." Said moviegoer, Benson Alder.

Some say by letting this incident alter your mind, it's almost allowing the shooter to win. But there are those who's choices have been impacted by the shooting, and you can't blame them.

"I'm not a moviegoer, but I am a little more reluctant to go." said M'Recia Seegmiller from Salt Lake.

So while some research groups suggest 20-25 percent of people are apprehensive about going to the movies, the actual numbers here at the Gateway Megaplex suggest numbers are off about 10%.
