SYRACUSE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a Syracuse home Monday morning.

The bodies were found at 903 South 2125 West after police received a call of a suicide, but when police arrived the officers discovered two bodies.

Lt. Tracy Jensen with the Syracuse Police Department said, “Officers arrived, made entry into the home and in finding him we found another deceased female.”

The couple were identified as Gary and Jessica Lucero.

Neighbors say the husband called his sister early Monday morning to tell her something had happened and she needed to come pick up his son. Police aren’t confirming if a child was home when the incident took place, only that someone had reached out to a family member.

“Either a call or a text getting her over here early this morning,” said Lt. Jensen.

Skylee Rogers lives near the family. Like many in the neighborhood, Rogers and her family were shocked to hear the news.

“I woke up, I looked outside and there’s tape all around,” said Rogers.

For most of the neighbors the police tape was the first sign there had ever been any trouble in the home.

“They’re just really nice people,” said Rogers. “They’ll do anything for anyone. They’re always willing to help other people. You wouldn’t suspect that it would happen to those people.”

Police say they’ve never been called to the family home before for any kind of trouble.

“No prior issues here, nothing. This isn’t a family we’ve had history with at all. A big shock,” said Lt. Jensen.
