SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A nine-year-old girl says she was nearly abducted by a stranger on her walk to school.

"I was right here in front of the tree about right here and that's when he pulled up beside me," said Bailey Linville. "He was parked about right here and the sliding door was right next to me," she continued.

Her mind was screaming out for help though nothing came out of her mouth. All she could think about was getting away and the large tree near 1575 East and 8480 South in Sandy.

Its branches concealed her apparent attack from adults at her school who could help. "The safety patrol they're the ones that cross the kids and I was on this side of the tree and they weren't able to see me so they weren't able to come and help," Linville said.

Baily took charge because she was alone. "He grabbed me on the arm and then I kicked him in the knee," she said.

She says she ran two steps away and then he grabbed her again. "He grabbed me from behind and I was able to elbow him in the stomach and then finally get away," she said.

Unified Police have released the following description of the suspect:

Suspect: Caucasian male, late 20's/early 30's, no facial hair, brown hair (shoulder length), white sunglasses, red beanie, black hoodie with an unknown design, black sweat pants, and black/white shoes.

Suspect Vehicle: Dark colored mini-van with sliding doors on both sides and black leather interior.
