OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 News) – The family of Emilie Parker said their final goodbyes to the little girl Saturday.

A beautiful tribute to the 6-year-old filled the walls of the Rock Cliff Stake Center in Ogden.

Emilie’s aunt, Jill Cottle Garrett, said family and close friends sang Christmas songs at the service.

“This past Sunday, Emilie was set to perform with her sisters,” Garrett said. “She had been practicing these songs and we sang them to her because she wasn’t able to sing them to us.”

Garrett said Emilie’s two little sisters took pink flowers off Emilie’s casket and danced around in celebration of Emilie’s life.

Garrett called Emilie an example of love.

“Now she’s become an example to the world about purity, innocence, tragedy and forgiveness,” she said.

Emilie’s father, Robbie Parker, broke down at the funeral when speaking about his daughter died, but he stressed the fact that Emilie was a kind soul and had many friends.

Emilie was especially close with her cousins.

“We have a wonderful family and a lot of kids who are at a loss for words for the loss in their lives,” Garrett said.

The cousins and the rest of Emilie’s family and friends wore pink and black to the service.

The community displayed signs and ribbons in support of the blonde haired, blue eyed child that touched so many hearts.

“The support is unbelievable,” Garrett added.

Emilie, an Ogden native, was one of 26 children killed in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT.

Emilie was laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Ogden.
