Salt Lake City (ABC 4 News) - On June 26th, Orrin Hatch and other Utah candidates will learn their political fate.
Voters will be casting ballots in several Republican and Democratic races.
In a perfect political world, Salt Lake County polling places would be swamped by early voters.
But politics and life aren't perfect.
Sherrie Swensen, Salt Lake County’s Election Clerk told us,
“So far, early voting has been pretty slow."
But while early voting in person is bad, Swensen says is that early voting by mail is good.
"We've had a good return on our vote by mail ballots. We sent out over 60,000 and we have received about 30,000 of those back."
Swensen also told me that the Republican senate race with Orrin Hatch and Dan Liljenquist is attracting voters and so is the GOP race for county mayor.
But one of the other intriguing primary races is for president.
Former Salt Lake Olympic boss Mitt Romney is on the ballot and seemed to be the heavy favorite of early voters we talked to.
