EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - People from across Utah flocked to Eagle Mountain  Friday to show their support for Mike Roberts, whose wife recently died after giving birth.

In fact, crowds came to Friday's fundraiser in droves.

"We probably pulled money out of the donation boxes four or five times today because they've been full," said Clif Gallagher, fundraiser organizer.

Clif Gallagher is organizing everything from the bake sale, to the yard sale and the silent auction. Gallagher tells ABC 4 he didn't know Mike Roberts before yesterday, but he now wants to do as much as possible to help.

"It's worth it to me spending hours upon hours helping him," said Gallagher.

Last week Mike's wife Liz died after giving birth to their daughter Lilyanne.

"Deep down inside I want to be in the corner crying like a baby, but I know that I've gotta be strong and I've gotta move on," said Mike Roberts, widowed husband.

And if losing the mother of his children wasn't bad enough, Mike just found out he might also lose his home.

"We're looking at $9,800 right now," said Roberts.

"That's how much you owe the bank?" Reporter Brian Carlson asked.

"That's how much we owe in payments, yah," Roberts said.

So Gallagher and others are throwing out the call for help. As of Friday, people are starting to respond.

"I couldn't imagine him going through this all by himself," said Joe Antle, fundraiser supporter.

"We wanted to come and help anyway that we could," said Misty Ward, fundraiser supporter.

"My heart goes out to this dear man who lost his wife," said Laura Weaver, fundraiser supporter.

The fundraiser for Mike Roberts continues on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rockwell Charter School located at 3435 E. Stonebridge Lane in Eagle Mountain.

On November 2nd the Chick-fil-A in American Fork is holding an "Elizabeth Roberts Spirit Night." That evening from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. the restaurant owners will donate 20% of their profits to Mike Roberts' family.
