OGDEN Utah (ABC 4 News) – Dea Millerberg wants to cut a deal on two felonies she’s charged with.

But the felonies have nothing to do with the case involving the death of Alexis Rasmussen.

Instead, she’s facing felony counts for prescription fraud and child endangerment.

Wednesday she appeared in Ogden’s district court prepared to cut a deal with prosecutors.

But her attorney wasn’t quite ready.

He wants to wait for prosecutors to finish their investigation of the North Ogden teen’s death.

“We're not sure what’s going to be filed there,” said Millerberg’s attorney Michael Bouwhuis. “So we're very careful about trying to sentence something on the current charges until those come in."

Dea Millerberg is a person of interest in the death of Rasmussen.

Her husband Eric is also a target of the police investigation.

“She denies causing the death of the young woman,” Bouwhuis said. “And that's all I'm going to say.”

Prosecutors are waiting on results from Rasmussen's autopsy. Her cause of death still remains a mystery.

But prosecutors are certain the Millerberg's will be charged in her death.

“She's out of custody so there's relief there but she's under a lot of stress because of the ongoing charges and the investigation,” her attorney said.

But if charges in Rasmussen's death aren't filed soon, Bouwhuis said she'll plead guilty to these other two felonies on her next court date in January.
