Good Sunday evening,
The first storm of fall will bring big changes to the state over the next few days. First off, the air quality will dramatically improve as rain will cleanse the smoky skies. As the storm approaches the state tonight, showers and a few thunderstorms will develop in the northern part of the state. Monday will be a cloudy, showery, and much cooler day. The Wasatch Front will see temps closer to 70, with showers through the day. Southern Utah will see isolated thunderstorms by the afternoon.
Monday night into Tuesday, the upper level storm will provide cold enough air for snow to fall on the highest peaks of the Wasatch and Uinta Ranges. There could even be a mix of rain and snow down into places like Alta, Brighton, and Mirror Lake.
The slow moving storm will stick around for Tuesday, with lingering showers and a few thunderstorms. Highs will remain cooler, in the 70s and 80s, but 50s-60s in the higher elevations. The later half of the week will be drier and warmer, making for beautiful fall weather. This next weekend also looks very nice, with high pressure moving in.
Have a great night.
