A WINTER STORM WARNING continues until 5am for northern Utah, including Salt Lake City, Tooele, Park City, Ogden, and Cache Valley. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY continues until 5am for the Uinta Basin, central and western Utah, down to Cedar City. Heavy snow, falling up to 2" per hour, has been occuring from the Idaho border, down to Salt Lake City. Snow will continue until about midnight, before ending from north to south. Accumulations will be between 4-8" for the Wasatch Front, up to 12" for the Benches and the Wasatch back. The mountains will see up to 18", and 1-4" will fall around the Uinta Basin, down to Cedar City. Monday morning's commute will be cloudy with icy spots on the roads, but the snow will have ended across northern Utah. Southern Utah will see areas of snow, with rain over lower elevations. Highs will be in the 20s and 30s, with a wind up to 20mph. An AVALANCHE WATCH is up for the mountains around Logan, and avalanche danger should be considered very high the next several days.
Another storm will come in from the northwest on Tuesday, with light snow likely falling in the morning. Several more inches are possible for the Wasatch Front and northern mountains. Snow showers will continue in the mountains on Wednesday, but a warming trend will occur late this week into the weekend.
