He brought the crowd to its feet and received an arena full of applause not once, not twice, but dozens of times. Former President Bill Clinton was the featured speaker on the second day of the Democratic National Convention.

We're told President Clinton worked on his speech until the very last minute. When it was finished, his message was simple, we have to work together to build a new economy, and a better America, and president Obama is the man to lead the way.

It didn't take the former president long to get to the heart of his message, cooperation. He said now that he’s doing humanitarian efforts across the world, he sees republican, democrats and libertarians working together on a regular basis. Clinton said that kind of partnership needs to extend to Washington D.C., and he says Obama can make it happen.

The democrats have been skirting talk of the economy until Clinton’s speech. In it, he claimed President Obama was handed a bad economy, and that he has done a lot of rebuilding since. Clinton also talked about the state of health care and welfare. He said the claim that President Obama weakened welfare is just not true.
