LAYTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A big brother in Layton saved his little sister after a truck slammed into their home late Monday night.

A Comcast sub-contractor truck drove more than 190 feet through three front lawns before it slammed into the Layton home at 1591 North 160 West.

The damage was bad, but the biggest concern was the 14-year-old girl sitting at a desk on the other side of the wall.

Eliza Hainey's big brother Austin was first to find her. He tells ABC4, "She was pinned under the desk. The truck was on top of the desk that was on top of her."

Eliza was taken to the hospital with a pretty big bump on her head and a concussion, but miraculously that was it.

19-year-old Austin walked down the stairs to say good night to his sister right as the truck plowed through the wall.

Austin said, "Imagine having someone jumping out at you, but instead of a person, it was a wall with an AC unit and a vehicle attached."

The air conditioning unit was blocking the door, but the big brother didn't care. He got to his sister, fast.

Austin said, "I was just praying she wasn't dead, please don't be on top of her."

He managed to get to her; sift through the mess and get his little sister to safety.

Austin doesn't call himself a hero, he said he "Just did what he had to do."

Neighbors tell ABC4, the outcome of this accident really is a miracle. Had the truck had hit a just a few inches different, it would have hit the gas line and this would have been an entirely different story.

Layton Police are investigating the accident and at this point they have not filed any charges. The truck driver told neighbors he had fallen asleep behind the wheel.
