The brothers and one of the sisters of Josh Powell want 3.5 million dollars from life insurance policies on Susan Cox Powell and her two little boys.

As politicians often say... Let me be perfectly clear, they're asking for blood money.

If there is any sanity left in this old world, they won't get a dime.

Here's why:

1) Their brother, Josh, took an ax to his two little boys and then set fire to his house killing them all in a horrible inferno.

2) Their brother changed the beneficiaries just before the boys' murder. It was probably about the same time he was emptying his bank accounts and dropping their toys off at Goodwill. It was part of his murder plan.

3) What's more, their brother probably killed his wife -- the mother of those boys -- a couple years earlier. What's more, attorney Ann Bremner says Susan paid most of the premiums on the policies.

In essence, the siblings want to profit from their brother's crimes. They want money for the horrible deaths of their nephews and probably their sister-in-law. Blood money.

It is beyond outrageous.

Susan's parents, Chuck and Judy Cox, are going to court to try to block the insurance payout. I wish them well.

And if they end up with that money, then all the better. I know the Cox family will find an appropriate use for it.
