I have some news for you... Having grown up in the church and lived in Utah for 40 years, I can tell you that many, if not most Mormons are petty, judgmental and obsessed with a "holier than thou" attitude.

Is this blog on an ABC affiliate or an LDS related site? Is there a difference in Utah? The sheer wierdness of making what would appear to be a personal matter a tpoic of public debate demonstrates exactly why normal sane reasonable people who make being free from religious prejudice a matter of moral conviction still have a reason to pause before voting for a Mormon for President. This conversation fuels the widely held belief that Mormons as a group do not comprehend normal boundaries between the personal and the public, between private life and civic life. Bilge like this makes the charge that Mormons are Theocratic fascists hell-bent or destroying human liberty in the name of forcing their religion on free people seem reasonable. And thats crazy, right? Right?

Love your response Jaybird! I have been telling that same story for 40 years. I asked a friend when I was a teenager, who was the founder of the Mormon church and she didn't know! I have since taken a few World religion courses and have yet seen in any book where Mormons are considered Christians. I took a class from a mission teacher, telling him I was interested in his Religion and I am sure that the majority of Mormons have no idea what their own religion is about! That why I think you see this obcession on all these stupid petty, judgmental issues. They do not know or understand a serious subject!

The thing is, there never used to be a dividing line between church members I felt which is what I was going to say until my latter teen/young adult years. This is when I really started seeing the "so called" attitudes and preconceived notions take effect. I have OCD, anxiety and depression, and it seemed like it never was like that until after my illness started. Some people would probably assume it's just part of having a mental illness, but I beg to differ because this kind of behavior has been addressed in the church time and time again, but some mormons still seem to think that they're immune to being imperfect, but everybody is. Even them. There's really no excuse whatsoever for that kind of despicable and cruel and sadistic behavior.

I agree!!!!! Who are those "so called" Mormons to judge anybody?!!!!! This is exactly why I don't want to be associated with some of those brain dead pathetic losers. This is also the reason I don't go to church anymore because there are so many opinionated people out there who go to church and think of themselves as the "perfect" mormons while looking down on me and I'm sure a lot of other people as well. In short, they think that their opinions are the only ones that count, and everyone else's opinions are not worth anything. This is WRONG!!!!! This is immoral and prejudiced. This is why I stopped going to church in the first place because people made me feel unwelcome and almost invisible, and acted like I didn't belong there. I'm still a good mormon. I don't wear garments, but I believe in the gospel and everything I was taught. I never felt like there was a division between the church members, you know a dividing line where some think that they are better than others and then of course, the "rest". Whether Ann Romney was wearing garments or not, is beside the point. Am I wrong or isn't it God's decision to judge people? Here's some advice to those "so called" mormons who think they're so special and high and mighty and holier than thou: "GET A LIFE"!!!!! and "LIVE AND LET LIVE"!!!!!

Seeing stupidity on this level reminds me of why I am so happy that I got the hell out of "Utard" all those years ago. Oh and talking about this isn't what makes you petty, judgmental, and holier-than-thou, being p.o.s. Utah mormon pukes is what does that.

Typical Utah Mormon attitude. Why is what Ann wore or did't wear anybody's business but hers, and making it newsworthy?Really? Only in Utah. Instead of blogging about issues that face us as a nation we're asking people on the streets about what Ann Romney is wearing under her skirt. We are members of a religion who try daily to live Christlike lives but people outside our faith see these petty and absolutely useless stories and judgmental attitudes of our members and probably think we are idiots. I see Ann as as strong minded intelligent woman who lets this kind of crap roll off her back but I think she's shaking her her head over this one. Way to go fellow Utah Mormons... Yet again.

I think some people don't seem to have enough to do. Speculation is dangerous and damaging. Once the rumor has been started, it's impossible to recall the damage that it does to a person's reputation even if they find they accused someone erroneously. People need to worry about themselves and be very careful about being judgmental. It's really none of their business one way or another.
