Draper, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A body analyst expert sat down with ABC 4 to decipher Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan during the Vice Presidential Debate Thursday night.

Joe Biden won by a landslide, said 3 Key Elements President Kirk Duncan after he examined the body language of both candidates.

"The Vice President (Joe Biden) is just nailing him (Paul Ryan) on certain things and he's sitting here like this (Duncan mimics a baby face) and I wrote down, 'It's a baby face'. It looks like the wise and elderly have whooped the young and coming up on the ranks," Duncan revealed.

Duncan says the body language dance between candidates progressed beginning with their first handshake. Ryan greeted Biden with a firm handshake, but also an arm grab. "Very firm grabbing of the arm, which indicates I'm ready for this debate and I want to have control of this conversation," Duncan said.

The camera cut away to a shot of Biden more subtly grabbing Ryan's arm.

"What does this communicate about Joe Biden right here?" ABC 4's Noah Bond asked. "OK, what we're seeing here is he's not holding on as tight. He doesn't have to express himself physically. He knows, what I'm reading from this is, I'm very confident in what I'm about to say," Duncan revealed.

Duncan says when people don't feel confident on the inside, they can overcompensate with an outward appearance of confidence.

"And so when they're confident on the inside they show less aggressive moves on the outside," said Duncan.

At one point Biden hammers Ryan for requesting stimulus money he is now denouncing the President for granting.

"So when the Vice President brings this up what he (Ryan) does is he reaches up and he touches his nose. You see him just touch his nose and anytime someone touches their nose is they're showing that there is regret or doubt in the fact of what they had done," Duncan said.

"What if their nose really itches?" asked Bond. Duncan responded,"Well they go an hour and a half and the only time they touch their nose is when they're being attacked straight on and it's so intense that what it actually does is causes an sensation in your nose which makes it itchy. It's a real physical thing," Duncan said.

At one point in the debate, Biden apparently annoyed signaled a shift in his approach.

"You saw him with his hands like this rubbing his thumbs, which is saying you are affecting my authority and this is what we're going to do," Duncan said as he pounded his right first into his left hand. "So you saw from that point on where the Vice President just turned it on. From that gesture on boom. He took off."

Rules are rules, be it in sports or in debates. When one side is speaks, you on the other side simply listen -- even though you may vehemently disagree. And there is another rule: When a judge or moderator speaks, you immediately stop speaking -- and you stop before finishing your last thought, before finishing your last sentence, and before finishing your last word. It’s got nothing to do with being nice. It’s effective etiquette. It's what works.
