UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A BYU student fell to his death on Saturday while climbing with friends near Stewart Falls in Provo Canyon.

According to the Utah County Sheriff's office, the man was 22-year old Adam Perazzo of Fallon, Nevada.

Police say Perazzo could have possibly slipped on some rocks, falling 70 feet to his death. The BYU student was apparently not using ropes or safety gear while climbing. Friends tried to revive Perazzo before police arrived. The North Fork Fire Department gave him CPR for about 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stewart Falls, a popular area for hiking and climbing is near Sundance Ski Resort. Police say it's not uncommon for people to slip and fall in the area due to the rocky and wet terrain.
