Kim is a native Texan who grew up in the Houston suburb of Sugarland. After graduating high school, Kim traveled north to the DFW Metroplex where she attended the Radio Television & Film School at The University of North Texas. While there, Kim hyped up sports fans as Scrappy the Eagle mascot, and was an intern at KXAS in Dallas. Kim landed her first job in Abilene, TX as the morning anchor for the NBC affiliate, KRBC. From there she moved to the Texas panhandle to become the main anchor for the FOX affiliate in Amarillo. Kim took a break from news and tried her hand at hosting from 2005-2007. She was the face of the popular Dallas television show "Hot On Homes," but it didn’t take long for her to realize journalism was her passion. So Kim packed up everything again and headed to San Antonio, where she was a nightly reporter for the NBC affiliate, WOAI. From 2009 to 2011, she ended up back in Dallas, working at the station where she first started as an intern, KXAS. She acted as morning reporter and fill-in anchor. Now, she’s taken her first leap outside of the Lone Star state! Kim was hired as the 5pm anchor and 10pm reporter for ABC4 in December of 2011, and so far, she loves it! Kim believes everyone has a story; they just need the right person to tell their tale. If you have something interesting going on in your life… send Kim a message with the form below.
