Don Hudson is an award winning reporter and a graduate of Brigham Young University. His career has taken him all over the country --from Utah to Texas to Washington DC. Don has covered a number of significant stories during his career. In Texas, he covered Hurricane Brett as it roared through the Gulf of Mexico and into South Texas. While his family evacuated the area he reported on the hurricane for 12 straight hours. In Washington, D.C. he was one of the first people on the air after terrorists slammed a plane into the Pentagon. He also covered the deadly Washington D.C. sniper shootings from the day they started until the trial of one of the suspects. Don’s ability to speak Spanish has helped him during several stories and enabled him to travel to the U.S. - Mexico border to put together stories as part of an Emmy Award winning special report on illegal immigration and its impact on our economy. Don is also involved in the community - serving as a mentor and a volunteer. Don’s wife was born in Salt Lake City and they have three teenage sons. His oldest is a missionary in El Salvador. Another son is in high school and his youngest is in middle school. He has five brothers and sisters and has 20 nieces and nephews – half of them live here in the Salt Lake Valley. When he has free time he enjoys hiking in the canyons, playing video games (or should we say 'losing' video games) with his sons and embarrassing himself on the local golf courses and basketball courts.
