Brian Carlson is glad to be back with the ABC 4 team. Brian reports live weekday mornings from 5:00 – 7:00 a.m. for Good Morning Utah. Brian was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He got his first taste of on-air news in high school, at a Salt Lake area TV station… and loved it! Brian took his enthusiasm for news to BYU, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism. There, he pioneered a weekly sports show that became a staple of the BYU news diet. In 2004, Brian moved from the classroom to the newsroom as an intern for ABC 4. A few months later he left to start his professional TV career at KNDU in Kennewick, Washington. He started as a reporter, but he eventually anchored the area’s highest rated news program. When opportunity knocked to come back to ABC 4, Brian jumped at the chance. He joined the news team in September 2008. His first day, he reported breaking news of a double homicide. As a Video Journalist he’s not only in front of the camera, but he’s also behind it too. Brian’s hobbies include football, drawing, volunteering, skiing, wakeboarding, working out, and watching movies. Brian currently lives in the Salt Lake area, and loves working in the only city he calls home.
