ABC 4 News reporter Brandy Vega is originally from the sunny state of Arizona. She moved to Utah in 1993 and immediately fell in love with it. After graduating early from West Jordan High School, Brandy traded in her senior trip for the delights of boot camp and the Army Reserve where she enlisted as a broadcast journalist and public affairs specialist. She proudly served the country for eight years. During that time Brandy was fortunate enough to interview several national and international leaders, including: President Bush, the First Lady, Colin Powell, and Donald Rumsfeld. Brandy received a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from the Defense Information School in Maryland and also studied at the University of Utah. She became the youngest TV reporter when she landed her first on-air reporter position with a Fox News affiliate at the age of 20. She worked here at ABC 4 from 2003-2006 as a news photographer and is excited to be back, this time as a video journalist. In addition to television, Brandy is also a video spokesperson and actor. She has appeared in movies, documentaries, infomercials, commercials, web-casts and in print advertising. Brandy is married with two beautiful little girls Adia and Kyah. She loves spending time with her family and lists her pastimes as riding ATVs, playing basketball, and anything else that provides a challenge and competition. She also loves to volunteer with programs such as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and with her Church.
