Kent Rupe came to ABC 4 in August of 2002 after spending the three previous years at KALL Radio as a talk show host and basketball play-by-play announcer.
Prior to that, he spent more than eight years as an anchor or reporter for other Salt Lake are television and radio stations.
After graduating from the University of Utah with a Mass Communications degree, Kent got his first broadcasting job at the ABC station in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Kent has won the Utah Sportscaster of the Year award twice (1997 and 2005), as voted on by the states sports broadcasters and sports writers.
An avid sports fan all his life, Kent enjoys spending his free time on the golf course, watching his boys play baseball and basketball and participating in other family and church activities.
Parents of five children, Kent and his wife Caroline live in Farmington.
