What I would like to know is - have the remains of Josh Powell been positively identified? Is there a remote possibility that he burned up some homeless fellow in the house to cover his tracks, escaped out the back and escaped the country with the $7,000 he withdrew from the bank?

I'll tell you why, realnws, because while I'm sure she is a kindhearted individual she is one of many used by CPS that are underpaid, overworked, under-trained. Contrary to media reports she is NOT a social worker. The state of Washington is deceiving the public by telling people that these families will be getting help from skilled professionals. The state is saving money by providing glorified babysitters instead. Same with other vulnerable adults. The mentally ill are not getting social work or psychological help for their problems. they are getting "peer support" - someone else with insurmountable problems will give them a hot meal and send them on their way withe their very real problems. I "get it" that you cannot spend money that you do not have. But you would not go to Jiffy Lube, pay for an oil change, get one quart short of used oil and be satisfied with the answer "times are tough". You would be expected to be told the truth so you could change you own ** oil. They say the sign of a healthy society is how they treat their most vulnerable. We are not doing very well. What can we learn from this? It is our responsibility , all of us, each individual one of us, to protect the vulnerable within our sphere of influence, children, mentally ill, disabled, and the elderly. The Cox's did their best to protect those boys. If each one of us can do our share to protect those in our family and neighborhoods Maybe, we can make a difference. The "government" is not going to be able to fix this.

I listened to the Social Worker's 911 call. Not only did the dispatcher tell her more important calls would be handled first, he went on to waste time over the "supervising" issue. She's telling him she's on a supervised visit and so forth and he's asking how she can be supervising herself if she's supervising the children. This is not a quote, but anyone who listens to the 911 call will understand what I'm talking about. As I listened to the dispatcher, he seemed distracted. It did not seem he was considering the matter serious at all and almost seemed bored. All the questions he asked, hair color, eye color etc weren't even quick questions they were slow. Most of those questions seemed irrelevant to me, Joshua Powell wasn't on the run, he pulled his boys into the home. The Social Worker told him that. Precious minutes lost! The children should have never been allowed to go to their father. He was suppose to undergo that Psych test first due to the pornography found. The grandparents followed the law. They didn't do anything wrong. The system did! Family Court and the 911 delay. The Police and Fire responded in a timely manner, but by that time it was all too late. It took time to pull those boys in, possibly hesitate, ponder, crack them in the head with an axe and blow up the house. The 911 Op didn't even try to console the Social Worker, usually 911 operators are compassionate and helpful. Instead he sounded more like he was interrogating her. It really did! He may feel bad now, but it didn't seem like he felt anything then. The State should pay for the Social Worker's life time counseling and any diagnosis psychiatric or physical that becomes a direct result of what she went through trying to prevent this from happening. The only good I can try to find in any of this is that those babies are in the loving arms of their mother Susan once again. My apologies if I offended anyone ~Twinkle V.

I know the victim in this horrible crime and I'm so sad for him and his family. My deepest regrets ans paryers are going out to them. I hope that the victim pulls thru so we can tell him one more time how much we care for him. I hope the system locks this man up and he never gets out.

I have a very hard time stomaching the Mr. Carver interview ABC 4 aired. If a guy like Mr. Carver is that interested in being on the news it might be a good idea for ABC to ask a few questions from reliable sources like the police and all the neighbors as to what has been happening in that neighborhood. It seems bizarre that ABC 4 news couldn't make a few phone calls or talk to authorities to get the real take on the information provided by a "Self-Proclaimed, put me on the news" concerned citizen Mr. Carver. I do not find the reactions of all the neighbors that know the history of these families bizarre. I find it bizarre that a guy that has a history of being bizarre gets any air time from any news organization without some kind of investigation. As for the Carvers...It is not normal to be involved in every dispute in a neighborhood. It is not normal to call the news and tell them about a neighbor getting busted because of you. It is not normal to print fliers with unproven alligations and pass them around the neighborhood. It is not normal to call the Draper Police multiple times per week about most of your neighbors. It is not normal to have neighbors file no tresspassing restraints against you. It is not normal to sit around your house late at night in a suit unless you are waiting to get interviewed by the news. It is defininately not normal to turn in a hardened criminal and have all the neighbors hate you for turning him in!!! BIZARRE is not the reaction of the Draper residents close to the truth and the story!

Because of irresponsible stories like this I was refused at the dr office that I have gone to for 6 years WITH my service dog. I am injured, and I am starting to think pretty badly at that. There isn't many dr's up here who take my insurance and the other main clinic isn't taking new patients and they don't know when they will be. I am in pain as I write this despite meds from urgent care, and I am trying to find a place to go to order the test that will tell us if this will need surgery. No dice so far and a person gets to feeling hopeless. I don't look disabled- but you better believe I am. I was born with my disability. Yeah I got my vest online (where is a privately trained service dog supposed to get a vest if not online or personally sewed- the schools buy them from somewhere too). I use a rottweiler service dog, always have in my over 10 years with service dogs. My dog has gone through scores of hours of training and socialization to do the job she does and the one before her and the one before that and the one before that. I even have taken vids to show some of her tasks and we're working on more right now. I am also a private SD trainer and trained advocate, I am someone people go to when they need a service dog and don't know how to go about training a dog for that or when they are affected by stories like this and need someone to step in. Of course this isn't written on my forehead when I am out seeing to my own business with my own dog. I am just like everyone else. Have I met fakers? You bet I have-in Walmart. No one to better tell a faker than someone who is legal. It starts to become really clear when you start asking the questions allowed. Just the way in which they answer gives a clue. The way they hem and haw around what their dog can do. Those that are on the up and up know they are and answer questions accordingly- it's a whole different conversation when you're talking to someone who is legal and knows it and knows WHY they are legal.

I agree with truth prevails! Your follow up story which was supposedly meant to get the facts right, actually gave out more inaccurate facts. Since the U.S. Marshalls could not confirm or deny your allegations, you did nothing to correct your story. If you did not get your information from the U.S. Marshalls, where did you get the "facts" for your story in the first place. A disgruntled neighbor? And then to cover your tracks to headline your story "Bizarre reaction". If so many people in our neighborhood are having your so-called Bizarre reaction, doesn't that appear like something in your reporting is amiss. Next time try researching a story for the truth before reporting it. If this is how you report stories and cover up your poor reporting, I will not be tuning in to your news station ever again!

We knew the mormon community will do and say anything to distance themselves from Josh and Steve Powell - but this is pathetic. Both of them were and still are MORMON. Own it.
